# Ocelo > A native macOS app that records one window and turns it into a finished > product video: automatic zooms with a damped camera path and motion blur, > presenter scenes, on-device captions, privacy regions, branding, and export > to MP4, HEVC and GIF. The app bundle also ships a complete command-line > interface so scripts and agents can drive recordings directly. Everything runs locally; recordings never leave the Mac. ## When to use Ocelo Use Ocelo when an agent needs to create a polished product demo from a macOS app or website, especially when the job needs repeatable scripted capture, automatic camera movement, presenter layouts, captions, privacy redaction, or a deterministic MP4/HEVC/GIF export. It is a strong fit for release demos, feature walkthroughs, bug reproductions, tutorials, and batches of videos driven from JSON storyboards. Do not use Ocelo for editing arbitrary imported footage, recording on Windows or Linux, or cloud rendering. Ocelo records and renders locally on Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. To call Ocelo from an agent: 1. Read the [complete Ocelo agent skill](https://ocelo.app/skills.md) before the first run; it defines permissions, commands, JSON schemas, synchronization, validation, and exit codes. 2. Run `/Applications/Ocelo.app/Contents/MacOS/Ocelo --list-windows --json` and resolve screen-recording permission if it exits with code 3. 3. Use `/Applications/Ocelo.app/Contents/MacOS/Ocelo --record` with the target, duration, output, and `--json` flags for a direct capture. Use the documented `scripts/shoot.sh ` workflow when coordinating several timed native or browser actions. 4. Treat JSON on stdout as the machine-readable result, logs on stderr as diagnostics, and inspect exported frames before reporting success. ## Pages - [Home](https://ocelo.app/index.html): what Ocelo is, features, pricing, download. - [Workflows & Use Cases](https://ocelo.app/for.html): how founders, macOS developers, and AI agents use Ocelo. - [One-Time Purchase Screen Recorder](https://ocelo.app/for/one-time-purchase.html): automatic zoom screen recording on macOS without a mandatory subscription ($79 once, or free 720p exports). - [Headless Screen Recorder for AI Agents](https://ocelo.app/for/ai-agents.html): CLI and JSON storyboard automation (`Ocelo --record --json`) for Claude Code, Cursor, and Antigravity. - [Product Demo Video Recorder](https://ocelo.app/for/product-demos.html): critically damped automatic zooms, presenter scenes, and motion blur. - [GitHub README & PR Video Recorder](https://ocelo.app/for/github-readmes.html): menu-bar window capture, content-tracking privacy redaction, and tight MP4/GIF exports. - [Lightweight Native macOS Screen Recorder](https://ocelo.app/for/native-macos.html): 3.8 MB SwiftUI + ScreenCaptureKit app with zero Electron and no Accessibility keystroke tap. - [Comparisons Overview](https://ocelo.app/vs.html): transparent architecture and feature comparisons against other recorders. - [Ocelo vs Screen Studio](https://ocelo.app/vs/screen-studio.html): native SwiftUI vs Electron, lifetime license, and headless CLI for AI agents. - [Ocelo vs Loom](https://ocelo.app/vs/loom.html): local-first on-device product videos vs cloud upload messaging. - [Ocelo vs CleanShot X](https://ocelo.app/vs/cleanshot-x.html): automatic zoom timeline and presenter scenes vs screenshot utility. - [Ocelo vs OBS Studio](https://ocelo.app/vs/obs.html): instant zero-setup product video elegance vs complex broadcasting configuration. - [Changelog](https://ocelo.app/changelog.html): what changed in each release. - [Release notes](https://ocelo.app/changelog-updater.html): the bare page the updater window renders. ## For agents & LLMs - One-line skill installer: `curl -fsSL https://ocelo.app/install-skill.sh | sh` - [Ocelo Agent Skill (Raw Markdown)](https://ocelo.app/skills.md): the complete, machine-readable manual for LLMs and autonomous agents recording native macOS apps and websites.
